Al-Shenawy, an announcer for Al-Hayat channel, tested the reaction of people by standing on the handrail of the Qasr al-Nil Bridge pretending to think about commiting suicide.
"Passersby took pictures of me standing there but did not try to talk me out of it,” he said. “Indifference has prevailed and magnanimity has vanished from the Egyptian people.”
