The turnout of Egyptian expatriate voters in some countries throughout the first stage of the House of Representatives elections was zero, said Deputy Foreign Minister Hamdi Loza in an interview with Al-Masry Al-Youm Monday.
The overall turnout of expat votes ranged between average and below average.
Kuwait ranked first, followed by Saudi Arabia, in voter turnout, according to Loza.
Loza attributed the low number of votes in some countries to the fact that voters belong to the second stage of the elections. He expects voting to increase in the second stage.
The majority of complaints filed by Egyptian expatriate voters focused on the lack of information about candidates, said Loza. he added that data on candidates in English and Arabic will be provided in the second stage.
