Members of the Tour Guides Syndicate in Hurghada have renewed their request to Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar to reopen the Qena-Luxor desert road for tourist convoys going from Hurghada to Luxor, as the Nile road is 40 minutes to two hours longer, depending on traffic.
Syndicate Chairman Bashar Abu Taleb said 1,500 to 2,000 tourists used to take this road everyday for a one-day excursion to Luxor.
