Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit Egypt in January 2016, according to sources.
The sources referred to high-level diplomatic communications between the two sides to prepare for the visit, which has been postponed since last April.
The visit will include the declaration of 2016 as a Chinese-Egyptian cultural year and will discuss a number of bilateral negotiations regarding energy, transport and other investments in the Suez Canal axis, according to sources.
In related news, the Chinese Embassy in Cairo celebrated the 66th Chinese national independence day Tuesday with the participation of a number of ministers, including Culture Minister Helmy al-Namnam, Cairo Governor Galal Mostafa and a number of foreign ambassadors and public figures.
Chinese Ambassador to Cairo Song Aiguo praised friendly Chinese-Egyptian relations, adding that China supports the Egyptian government and people to achieve economic and political reforms.
