The longtime bitter sports club rivals Ahly and Zamalek are competing in the 83rd final of Egypt’s national football cup at the Petrosport Stadium in Cairo on Monday.
Zamalek’s Portuguese coach Jesualdo Ferreira is eyeing his second title with Zamalek, after winning the team its 12th Premier League title in July, ending an 11-year drought.
Meanwhile, Ahly, led by Egyptian Fathy Mabrouk, is trying to regain the title it lost to its arch rival.
Zamalek, who scored the championship's first title in 1922, has held the cup 21 times, while Ahly has won 35 times.
This is the 17th final pitting the two teams against each other.
