Egypt and China have signed a memorandum of understanding to promote joint cooperation in the field of petroleum research, petrochemical industries and training Egyptian labor in the petroleum sector.
Egyptian Trade Plenipotentiary Minister and Head of the Economic and Trade Office at the Egyptian embassy in China Ayman Ali Othman said that the agreement will open a new opportunity of cooperation between Egypt and China.
In Statements to Al-Ahram newspaper, Othman said Chinese investments in Egypt in the petroleum sector hit USD 3.1bn.
He noted that the memorandum of understanding includes activating the application of scientific research and promoting joint cooperation in various fields.
