Acting Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Dr. Hossam Moghazy has said that the ministry will pay farmers LE1,250 per 50 kg of cotton.
During his tour of Fayoum, the minister said Egypt needs a national project to revive the cotton crop in a manner that benefits both the government and the farmers, as well as boosts Egyptian cotton in international markets.
He ordered the immediate disbursement of the farmers' delayed dues.
