Some 4,385 candidates across the country have so far applied to run for the upcoming parliamentary elections, the High Elections Committee (HEC) said on Tuesday.
About 112 people filed applications today, taking the number of candidates up to 4,385, HEC Spokesman Omar Marwan said.
He added that so far only three election lists would run for the parliamentary elections.
The deadline for applications is September 12.
Parliamentary elections were previously scheduled to take place in March, but were suspended by the Supreme Constitutional Court due to the unconstitutionality of parliamentary laws.
Parliamentary elections will mark the third and final step of the road map, which was outlined on July 3, 2013, following the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi.
