The loans provided by the Egyptian banks, except for the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), to customers have increased by LE8 billion in June 2015.
The total loans reached LE 713.6 billion at the end of June compared to LE 705.6 billion at the end of May, the CBE said in a statement Friday.
The bank loans to the government soared to LE66.42 billion in June as opposed to only LE62.9 billion in May.
The non-governmental loans also increased to reach LE647.2 billion, including LE464.9 billion loans in the local currency, and loans in foreign currencies amounted to LE182.6 billion.
