One hundred twenty-nine Syrians left Cairo Airport on Tuesday on a private Egyptian jet heading to Germany as the country agreed to accept the political refugees due to the deterioration of conditions in Syria.
Security sources at Cairo Airport said they would land in Hanover, in Lower Saxony, Germany.
As the civil war in Syria worsens, more Syrians are continuinng to flee for neighboring countries in the Middle East, such as Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Turkey.
The regional representative for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Egypt, Elizabeth Tan, said the five-year war has become one of the biggest crises in the 21st century, with Egypt now hosting 131,000 Syrians.
