The Scientific Research Academy has started a project to plant vegetables and fruit on the roofs of government buildings.
The project was implemented on the buildings of the Scientific Research Academy and the Ministry of Higher Education on Kasr al-Ainy Street, which have been covered with molokhia, eggplant, tomatoes, mango, lemon and lettuce.
Mahmoud Saqr, an Academy member, said a project to install solar cells for electric power generation has also been completed, as well as another project to install plastic tubs for breeding fish and using their waste as fertilizer for plants .
