The US ambassador to Egypt, R. Stephen Beecroft, released a video Thursday, wishing Egyptians a happy Ramadan on the first day of the month-long Muslim holiday.
“Ramadan – the month of fasting and generosity – reminds us of the fundamental values shared by many different peoples, religions and nations, as well as family and societal values,” the ambassador said in Modern Standard Arabic.
