The Armed Forces said on Thursday that there are only 65 days left for the new Suez Canal dream to come true.
The army said in a statement that 100 percent of the 35-km canal and its surrounding area has been completed in just eight months from the date of receiving the order from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
The statement also said that the expansion of the 10-km offshoot at Al-Balah has also been completed by 100 percent, including the bridges, the ferry docks, the sedimentation basins and the deepening of the natural lakes in New Ismailia.
This coincides with the establishment of the new city of Ismailia on 4,927 acres, with 58,000 housing units, to provide services for personnel working Suez Canal and Sinai development projects.
