The heat wave in Egypt will break on Thursday as temperatures are expected to go down by 8C, according to Waheed Saudi, spokesperson for the Meteorological Authority.
In a phone call with a talk show aired on the privately-owned TV channel Al-Hayah Monday, Saudi said the temperatures will reach a high of 40C on Tuesday, with a maximum of 45C in the shade Wednesday.
Saudi urged citizens to wear light-colored clothing and avoid spending time in the sun.
Expected temperatures on Wednesday: Cairo 45C, Alexandria 38C, Hurghada 47C, Sharm el-Sheikh 43C, Luxor 45C, Aswan 45C.
