Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb said that he is considering the extension of the curfew in some areas of North Sinai, which is to end April 25, for another three months in light of security reports.
Sources at the Cabinet said the hours set for the curfew may be reduced from 11 to seven or eight hours, as requested by the residents.
In the meantime, the North Sinai Security Directorate arrested 34 fugitive convicts and 47 suspects, including a young man found possessing military uniforms.
For its part, the Ansar Bait al-Maqdis organization urged residents of Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah not to cooperate with security agencies against them.
