Twelve minors were acquitted on Monday after being arrested randomly during protests commemorating the revolution’s fourth anniversary, according to a press statement by the Egyptian Center for Economic and Social Rights (ECESR), who had assigned lawyers to defend the minors.
On 25 January 2015, the security forces dispersed the masses of demonstrators commemorating the revolutionary martyrs, arresting 80 people including the 12 minors randomly at the streets surrounding the journalists' syndicate, mainly in Talaat Harb Square.
The 80 defendants were charged with violating the protest law, including the twelve minors that had been detained for more than a month.
