Dear police officer,
I am an Egyptian citizen that you cannot abuse in any way, not because we live in a state that respects the law or because you respect us people, but because you can spot a poor citizen from a mile away and I am not one of them.
After you finish reading my message, please do not come out and say that you do not sleep so that we can sleep safely or that you sacrifice your life for our country. For this is the nature of the job that you accepted when you graduated from the Police Academy. The academy does not graduate fashion models. You are a fighter. Anyone telling you otherwise would be lying to you. And you should know that political security is not the only priority.
Those who attack you do so because they believe you are not patriotic, and those who support you do so because they believe you are perfect.
In fact, you are a patriot alright, but you are unequipped and you need training. For you are a police officer of modern times, not a gendarme from the Mamluk era.
Your incompetence made you fire tear gas canisters at football fans crammed in an iron cage. Scores of them died from your inexplicable behavior, the same behavior that made you throw a canister inside a deportation van to kill dozens also crammed in it.
But you are not to blame because you are unqualified and foolish. The blame is put on those who do not bring you or your boss to account. If sacking the Interior Minister is not the solution, his staying in office becomes the problem.
You should not wear your white suit while bereaved mothers wear black to mourn the death of their beloved. And the eagle on your shoulder does not mean you are above others. Incidentally, what are those decorations on your suit for? They scare people.
You joined the academy because you did not score a high grade at school. Do not worry about that because education is not important in this country. Those who score high are not necessarily very bright anyway. But the fact remains that you did not score high because you are lazy.
Try to join those who work in difficult conditions with limited resources or step down.
