The Egypt’s government bodies will own 60 percent of the unified telecommunication entity it intends to establish and task with the process of construction and management communication infrastructure, with the remaining 40 percent going to the private sector, economic daily Al-Alam Al-Youm reported.
According to information obtained by Al-Alam Al-Youm, army-run companies will own 30 percent of shares at the company whose capital stands at LE3.8 billion.
The Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Electricity will each hold 10 percent of the company’s shares, while the ministries of finance and communication will hold 5 percent each.
The remaining 40 percent will go for Telecom Egypt, partially owned by the government, as well as the three cell phone service providers, Mobinil, Vodafone and Etisalat.
