Transportation Ministry Hany Dahy instructed the board of Egyptian Railways Authority in a meeting on Sunday to prepare bid requirements to purchase six new trains.
The ministry began measures to buy 700 rail cars and 25 trains at LE9 billion.
Dahi indicated three offers from Spain, China, Hungary to finance purchase of the rail cars and trains, he told Al-Masry Al-Youm adding that the best offer will be taken.
The ministry, according to Dahy, has begun developing the authority with investment at LE40 billion in four years. He said that he requested from the authority to conclude project on electronic control on trains to enhance safety as well as establishing railroads for merchandise to increase investment rates.
Dahy also highlighted demand to renew railroads to enhance the service.
