President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi signed on Saturday an agreement with his South Sudanese counterpart Salva Kiir Mayardit over bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
According to the agreement, joint ventures in the field of water resources management will be carried out to form a joint authority to allow permanent and official presence for the Egyptian irrigation mission in South Sudan, similar to the one in the North.
Mayardit arrived in Cairo on Thursday in a two-day visit to meet with Sisi about the Nile Basin region situation, as well as the armed conflicts in South Sudan and the negotiations on the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
