Giza Criminal Court will resume on Saturday the third session of a trial involving the seizure of artifacts from the Pyramids and smuggling them abroad.
Supreme Public Funds prosecution referred the defendants accused of facilitating and involvement in seizure of the public funds to trial.
The defendants include three German nationals, three archaeological detectives, two pyramids guards and a tourism agency owner.
The German suspects earlier got permission to visit the pyramids with the help of the tourist agency owner who got them the necessary permission to access the pyramids' inside. They entered in attendance of the guards and the detectives, who should accompany the tourists and make sure they do not possess any cameras or sharp tools.
The Germans, with the help of the others, allegedly surpassed the official area included in the permission and entered the five chambers of the pyramids and the Tomb of the Birds, who should be accessed only by special permission holders.
