Governor: Third phase of metro’s third line to stretch out from Attaba to Cairo University

Giza Governor Ali Abdel Rahman said the third phase of the third line of metro will be carried out starting 2015 at LE18 million.
 
The 15 stops will stretch out from Attaba reaching to the ring road, passing by Maspero, Zamalek, Kitkat, Sudan Street, Imbaba, al-Qawmeya al-Arabeya. Another direction will head to Mohandiseen and Bulaq al-Dakrour reaching to Cairo University.
 
The phase will take place through three steps, the governor told Al-Masry Al-Youm. First one will be from Attaba reaching to Kitkat (4 km) including Gamal Abdel Nasser, Maspero and Zamalek stops. The line will then divide into two directions one includes Sudan, Imbaba, al-Buhy, al-Qawmeya al-Arabeya, Ring road and Rod al-Farag corridor (6.6 km), while the second stretches from Kitkat to Cairo University (7.1 km).
 
The governor said that the metro will reach out to Rod al-Farag corridor which links populous areas like Imbaba and Bulaq al-Dakrour to the rest of Greater Cairo areas, which will greatly improve transportation accessibility for citizens. 
 
Dispossession of 12 land plots took place in order to construct entrances and exits of the metro stops.
 
Giza governorate had also started expropriation measures of the first phase of fourth metro line, whose construction will take place in March. This phase will stretche from west of the ring road passing by the Grand Egyptian Museum, Rimaya Square and reaching to Haram Street and Giza Square.
