When President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi came to office in June, he declared that security operations in Sinai will remain ongoing until terrorist havens used by extremists in attacks against military, police and civilians in Sinai are destroyed.
Security services have escalated its operations in North Sinai since then. Meanwhile, terrorist operations against police and military resumed. The latest attack took place on Friday, when at least 26 armed forces elements were killed.
