An Egyptian citizen has been killed west of Libyan city of Sirte upon clashes with group of armed people.
Abu Zeid Shehata al-Sayyed was fatally shot at the grocery store where he worked when the armed men entered his workplace and began to fire.
Libyan security source said a suspect was arrested 30 kilometers west of Sirte. The victim’s body was transferred to Ibn Sina Hospital in Sirte.
Egypt recently evacuated via air bridge, in coordination with Tunisian authorities, thousands of citizens who sought to flee ongoing violence by armed militias in Libya.
Several Egyptians have been killed and displaced since ouster of former Leader Muammar Qadhafi in 2011. Several attacks against Egyptian churches in Libya have also left many killed.
