Presidential Spokesperson Ihab Badawy said that employees of the presidency decided to donate 10 percent of their monthly salaries to the Long Live Egypt fund starting July and for six months.
Officers at the presidency’s police department also donated part of their monthly salaries for three months.
"The financial value of the donation is not what matters most, but the message of sacrifice is what really matters," Badawy said.
President Sisi had established the 037037 fund in July to receive donations from Egyptians in support of the economy.
Several public figures, including pro-Sisi businessmen, have made large donations to the fund.
