At a meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday evening, Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb discussed Egypt’s pivotal role in reaching a cease-fire in Gaza, joint efforts to achieve stability and peace in the region and ways to strengthen bilateral relations.
Mehleb also presented the government's plans for economic reform and services, including the construction of a 3,000-kilometer road network, the reclamation of million of acres and the encouragement of foreign investments to provide more employment opportunities for young people.
For his part, Kerry appreciated the successful steps taken by the Egyptian government with regard to the economy and said the United States is keen on supporting Egypt’s democratic process.
