Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar, called President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Sunday to congratulated him on Ramadan.
Qatar hopes to normalize relations with Egypt after the two countries' falling out during the ouster of the Egypt's first democratically-elected president Mohamed Morsy. Many of Morsy's critics were furious with Qatar for financially supporting Morsy and the Muslim Brotherhood, which the Egyptian government has labeled as a terrorist organization.
