Cabinet concludes last meeting

Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb, has concluded its last meeting which lasted for only 15 minutes while it drafted its resignation.

Mehleb then left the presidency to meet with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and submit his resignation.

The meeting, attended by all ministers except Telecommunication Minister Atef Helmy, who is on a foreign mission, is considered as the shortest meeting since its formation almost 100 days ago.

Composed of 31 ministers, Mehleb’s cabinet took oath before outgoing President Adly Mansour in the beginning of March. No reshuffle was made except for including Sedqy Sobhy as the defense minister, succeeding Field Marshal Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who quit ahead of standing for presidential elections on 26 March.
