Observers: Elections were transparent, integral

Community of Sahel-Saharan States delegation, which monitors presidential elections, described voting process as transparent and integral.
 
Ambassador Hussein Maloul, head of the monitoring delegation, said in a statement during a press conference on Wednesday, “We can ensure, in light of all notes taken, that the elections took place under satisfying circumstances and according to international standards recognized in such situations.”
 
The community, along with European Union and other international organizations, monitors the elections process.
 
In other news, Ambassador Hayfaa Abu Ghazala, head of the Arab League delegation, which monitors the presidential elections, indicated on Wednesday that it had seen a ‘good’ turnout during the third day of voting.
 
In remarks to journalists, Abu Ghazala praised role by the Egyptian women for the high turnout.
 
She added that the delegation noticed attendance of youth from both genders in voting lines, unlike rumors over youth boycott. She also commanded arrangements and security by police and military. She said that the 100-member team which monitors elections at 22 governorates will resume work until ballots are counted.
 
Abu Ghazala announced she will hold an international press conference at the Arab League headquarters on Thursday to declare report of the delegation over the presidential elections. A 15-minute movie on all aspects of the electoral process will be screened.
