Clashes between Brotherhood and security in Alexandria

Clashes erupted on Friday between supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood and the security forces in Al-Raml and Montaza districts of Alexandria after they marched to protest the upcoming presidential elections.

Alexandria Police Director Nasser al-Abd said in a press statement on Friday that security forces fired tear gas canisters to disperse the protesters and chased them in the side streets.

Brotherhood supporters staged protests in several areas east and west of Alexandria on Friday to protest against Field Marshal Abdel Fattah al-Sisi running in the elections that are slated for 26 and 27 May.
