
An Egyptian citizen was killed and two Libyan army members injured after an attack by gunmen on a military patrol in northeast Libya that had 50 illegal Egyptian and Eritrean immigrants in its custody.
An official Libyan news agency reported that an illegal Egyptian immigrant was killed and two Libyan military personnel were injured in a shootout in Gaghboub area between the military and the smuggling gang.
The news agency added that the military group had arrested 50 illegal immigrants who had entered Libya. The clashes took place while the patrol was returning back to Gaghboub to turn the immigrants in to authorities.
