Ahmed al-Qenawy, the lawyer delegated by Lawyers Syndicate to defend ousted President Mohamed Morsy, said that claims by Morsy’s daughter, Shaimaa, that the man on trial is a look-alike of her father are false.
Shaimaa had claimed on Facebook page that the person present at the latest court sessions is not her father.
“Shaimaa’s words reflect sentiments of a daughter who is sad for parting her father," Qenawy told Al-Arabiya.net. "Moreover, living in prison is different from living in the presidential palace.”
He also noted that if the Brotherhood leaders who are present with Morsy noticed the absence of the real Morsy, they would have spoken up.
The lawyer also said that Morsy's voice is the same, although the glass cage keeps most of the voice contained.
"When he gets out of the cage, those in attendance hear his voice clearly," he added. "His gestures are the same."
