The Cabinet will hold its weekly meeting on Thursday with the attendance of Field Marshal Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, defense minister.
The meeting comes after another one on Wednesday for the Supreme Council of Armed Forces, during which Sisi is expected to decide about his resignation and appoint another minister to replace him and a chief of staff of the armed forces.
An informed source from Cabinet said Sisi will attend the meeting.
Nominations for presidency is expected to start on Sunday. Sisi should submit his resignation before that date, in the case he decides to run for elections.
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb is expected to perform a reshuffle to designate a new defense minister and the vice premier post will be unoccupied after Sisi resigns.
Mehleb will visit Assiut on Wednesday to inspect production sites.
