Seven people were killed and other 14 injured when a truck hit five cars on al-Korayyemat-Cairo road, near Beni Suef, Colonel Mohamed Labanah, head of Beni Suef traffic department, said on Monday.
Ambulances transferred the victims and the injured to Beni Suef Public Hospital, Labanah told the privately-owned TV channel CBC.
In similar news, security source from Giza security department said on Monday that a train hit a micro-bus at Bortos level crossing, which caused injury of six people.
Traffic accidents in Egypt are usually blamed on human errors, the lack of security cautions and poor road conditions.
A recent report by the interior and transport ministries had said that 33,000 died in traffic accidents over the past five years.
