Doctors Syndicate’s committee of ethics and investigations summoned on Sunday Health Minister Maha al-Rabbat to hear her response on complaints filed by several doctors and boards secretaries of the syndicate’s branches.
Rabbat plans to be at the syndicate’s main headquarters in Cairo on 9 March at 1pm.
The minister’s referral to investigations comes after the non-ordinary general assembly’s decision on Friday after she referred earlier this month a doctor to investigations for taking part in the partial strike staged by doctors demanding amendment of the doctors’ cadre, which was adopted by the ministry.
However, Rabbat responded saying that, “Doctors Syndicate does not have the right to question or blame her.” She noted that her referral to investigations is a political use of the syndicate’s work.
