Mustafa Abdel Halim, media spokesman for the Red Sea Ports Authority, said the ports were reopened on Sunday after being closed on Saturday due to bad weather as the wind speed increased to 36 knots and the waves reached 6 meters.
The Authority decided to keep the Red Sea port of Hurghada closed on Sunday before marine traffic due to continued bad weather in the region.
Major General Yousef Abdel Moneim, the director of Hurghada Port, said the waves were between 3 and 4 meters and the wind speed reached 28 knots.
South Sinai Governorate opened Abu Zanima-Sharm al-Sheikh road on Sunday after it was closed Saturday because of the floods. Wady Feiran-Saint Catherine road remained closed after the falling of rocks on the road.
