Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis has claimed responsibility for the murder of Major General Mohamed Al-Saeed, head of the Interior Ministry’s technical office, on Tuesday.
“God enabled your brothers at Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis to assassinate Mohamed al-Saeed, deputy interior ministry," a statement published on Jihadi websites said. "To Sisi and Mohamed Ibrahim, cheer up, retaliation is near.”
Saeed was killed on Tuesday morning after two terrorists on a motorbike gunned him down in front of his house in the Haram neighborhood.
An interior ministry statement said that authorities have launched a massive hunt for suspects in the case.
