Tarek Abdel Aziz, lawyer for fugitive businessman Hussein Salem, said that he is meeting with his client on 28 January in Spain to discuss possible ways of reconciliation with the government.
Al-Masry Al-Youm had on 9 January said that Salem had offered the Muslim Brotherhood to waive half of his fortune in exchange for dropping all charges against him.
“This offer no longer exists,” said Abdel Aziz. “Only my client will decide if he would come up with any new initiative.”
An unidentified source close to Salem said that he does not intend to make any new concessions, but might decide to give donations.
The source denied that the Brotherhood pressured Salem to give them shares in his investment projects.
