A senior source within the Cabinet said on Tuesday the government has not yet declared the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist group, but it is waiting a court ruling into this matter.
A lawsuit is already being considered by an Egyptian court, demanded to officially declare the MB a terrorist group.
The source, who preferred anonymity, told Al-Masry Al-Youm that the government will implement the terms of any court ruling regarding the MB's group, association or political party.
He also noted that the government is currently freezing the MB's funds and assets.
Prime Minister Hazem al-Beblawy described on Tuesday the Muslim Brotherhood as a “terrorist group,” saying it has reared its ugly face, shedding the blood of Egyptians, according to Sharif Shawky, Beblawy's media advisor.
Though the perpetrators of the massive explosion at a security compound in Egypt's Nile Delta area of Mansoura, which killed at least 12 people and wounded more than 100, are still unknown, anger has been directed towards the Muslim Brotherhood, who officials have already begun to blame for the attack.
