The Ministry of Interior has officially requested the postponement of three Ahly club football matches that coincide with the impending parliamentary elections, sources said.
Ahly, Egypt's most popular team, is scheduled to face Smouha, Alexandrian Union, and Zamalek by the end of November.
President Hosni Mubarak recently set the poll date for 28 November.
The Egyptian Football Association reportedly held an urgent meeting to reschedule the dates in accordance with the ministry request.
