Morsy supporters to stage another sit-in in front of Nasr City mosque

Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood has said that it plans to hold a march in Cairo on Thursday, one day after security forces mounted a violent crackdown on its members, leaving hundreds dead.

"Marches will launch this afternoon from Al-Eman mosque to protest the deaths," the Islamist group said in a statement.

On Wednesday, supporters of toppled President Mohamed Morsy gathered before al-Eman mosque in Nasr City to stage another sit-in to replace the one at Rabaa al-Adaweya Square, dispersed by security forces on Wednesday

Supporters chanted slogans such as "Down with military rule"  and "Police are thugs."

State-owned news agency MENA reported that part of the mosque was converted into a field hospital to treat the wounded, injured during the dispersal of the Rabaa al-Adaweya sit-in.
