Libyan authorities said on Sunday that they had apprehended dozens of Egyptian workers attempting to enter Libya using fake visas.
The first army battalion was deployed to secure the Mosaed border crossing, linking Egypt and Libya, and they apprehended workers holding visas that “proved to be forged when checked with the Central Libyan Passport department, which confirmed that the visa data was not identical to the names and passport numbers printed on them,” said the chief of the Battalion, Colonel al-Mahdi al-Mabrouk.
“The process of catching and deporting them took place in coordination with Egyptian authorities. Egyptians who had exit and return visas were allowed to enter the Libyan territory,” he added.
