Suez Canal security bodies seized an Israeli ship for a duration of 24 hours for dumping explosives into the canal water.
Security bodies said canal workers spotted some objects around the Israeli ship and on picking one of them out of the water they saw the word "explosive" written on it in English. They reported the incident to their managers.
Security bodies rushed to the site and summoned the official in charge of the ship and searched its cargo. They found two tanks filled with explosives of the same type found in the water. The ship was seized and army personnel removed the explosives from the water.
Security bodies allowed the ship to cross the canal amid tight security on Wednesday after having seized it for 24 hours.
