The Ministry of Antiquities has authenticated eleven artifacts hidden by robbers and subsequently discovered by inspectors in Houd Barhoum, Meet Rahina, Giza.
In a statement on Thursday, Minister of Antiquities Ahmed Eissa said that the confiscated pieces date from the Greek and Roman eras, and that they will be placed in the ministry's storage houses in Meet Rahina, from where they were originally stolen.
Eissa said that he is anxious to retrieve antiquities lost amid the security void that has followed the 25 January revolution.
Two circular pans and a clay lamp were among the found artifacts, the minister revealed.
