Security forces on Sunday morning removed all the tents set up at the edges of Tahrir Square and the traffic barriers set up at its entrances, allowing the traffic to flow through the square, amid cheers from drivers.
The closure of Tahrir Square has caused traffic jams in surrounding alternative routes.
Security forces stormed the square after clashes broke out between them and unknown men who attempted to block the Corniche and hurled Molotovs at security forces.
Security forces chased them into Tahrir and arreste some of them before removing the tents at the edges, leaving only those in the garden located in the middle of the square.
Meanwhile, three Central Security trucks are stationed in Abdel Moneim Riyadh Square, at the 6th October Bridge and the on Nile Corniche.
Anti-regime protesters staged a sit-in in Tahrir after the second anniversary of the 25 January revolution. Other protesters have also been staging a sit-in there since President Mohamed Morsy issued his controversial constitutional declaration on 22 November.
