President Mohamed Morsy received from his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday a letter of invitation to attend the Eight Islamic Countries summit scheduled to be held in Islamabad from 19–21 November.
The invitation came during Morsy's meeting with Pakistani Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar at the presidential palace in Heliopolis. The meeting was also attended by Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Kamel Amr.
Meanwhile, Arab League Secretary General Nabil al-Araby met with Khar in Cairo on Wednesday to discuss the latest developments in the region and issues of mutual interest, especially Palestinian issues and the conflict in Syria, as well as ways of enhancing joint cooperation between the Arab League and Pakistan.
