Security guards at the presidential palace foiled an attempt by an electrician to commit suicide by taking rat poison.
The 34-year-old Daqahlia resident said he suffers from lung cancer. He previously traveled to Sudan for treatment and said he wants to return for additional care but cannot afford the LE750 ticket as he only has LE350.
Security forces reportedly gave the man the remaining money he needed and he thanked them and left. A report of the incident was filed and the Public Prosecution was notified of the incident.
