Ninety-nine percent of the dredging work in the New Suez Canal has been concluded, in preparation for the inauguration ceremony on August 6, the deputy executive director of dredging works, Engineer Ahmed Farid said.
The new water channel will be ready on Friday 25 July.
Security measures have been tightened in Ismailia and fishing activity has been suspended in the Temsah lake ahead of the inauguration ceremony.
