Eight people were killed and twelve others injured on Sunday in a car accident on the international road in Alexandria, the Health Ministry confirmed.
Ahmed al-Ansary, head of the Ambulance Authority, said six ambulances immediately arrived at the scene.
Khaled Megahed, the ministry spokesperson, said the victims and the injured were transferred to several hospitals.
All medical necessities, medicines and blood bags were provided at the hospitals, Megahed said, adding that the injured are in a stable condition having received the necessary medical care.
Magdy Hegazy, deputy minister in Alexandria, said 10 of the victims were transferred to the university hospital, while two others were taken to Al-Amriya public hospital.
