
A massive fire erupted this Friday morning at a garment factory in Gharbia Governorate, northern Egypt, resulting in the death of 8 people and injury to dozens.
The Ministry of Health announced the immediate dispatch of 26 medically-equipped ambulances to the site of the garment factory fire in the El-Yamani area, within the El Mahalla El Kubra district of Gharbia Governorate, as part of its emergency response efforts.
The Ministry explained that ambulance teams successfully transported 35 injured individuals to El Mahalla Public Hospital, where they are receiving necessary medical care under the supervision of specialized medical teams. The Ministry added that the initial report confirms the death of 8 citizens in the incident, offering its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
The Ministry noted that 15 ambulances remain positioned at the site to provide immediate medical support, with continuous close monitoring of the situation by field and central teams. Civil Defense forces are continuing rescue and rubble removal operations to search for any additional injured or victims, in full coordination with concerned authorities to ensure everyone’s safety.
The Ministry of Health and Population affirms that all efforts are being made to control the situation and ensure the provision of the best medical services, and it will continue to issue official updates to inform the public of developments.
